Welcome to Hummingbirds!  My goal is to provide the families of my greater community with loving and consistent childcare in the comfortable setting of my home.  I believe in every child’s inherent ability to love, play, work and learn.  At Hummingbirds it is my priority to support each of these abilities, with focus on the individual.  I concentrate on acceptance; emotional support, exploration and communication; teaching and practicing problem solving and conflict resolution skills; and providing a secure environment in which kids can express themselves and learn to appreciate the expression of others. 

My hope and work is to see each child in my care grow in self-reliance and esteem, as well as in their ability to work with others.  I believe, and have seen, that children are capable of this growth and are ready to lay these foundations of respect and integrity.  The foundation will be sturdy; the laying of it light and fun.  At Hummingbirds we explore our individual and social potential through games, music, singing, walks, play dough, stories, digging in the dirt, painting, drawing, resting, yoga, gardening and "free" imaginative play.  The children at Hummingbirds learn primarily from each other, with me as their guide and helper, taking ever seriously my role as model of respectful and appropriate behavior.
